St. John’s is a wonderful and historic church, founded in 1859, and a vibrant part of the Toorak and Melbourne community. This parish church is part of the Anglican Church of Australia and a member of the global Anglican Communion, comprised of 80 million people. We offer a number of services of Holy Communion during the week and everyone is welcome at our worship and events regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race or background.
8am Holy Communion with hymn singing
A peaceful celebration of Word and Sacrament early on a Sunday. We read the bible, pray for the world and share in Holy Communion. This worship is followed by breakfast in the Guild Room.
10am Holy Communion, sung service with St. John’s Choir
A joyful celebration of Word and Sacrament where we gather together to hear the Bible read, pray for the needs of the people of the world, share in Holy Communion and sing praises through sacred music. This worship is followed by morning tea, either in our beautiful gardens, or in the Buxton Hall.
Wednesdays 7pm Holy Communion in the Angel Chapel
A peaceful and prayerful service. An evening of hearing the Bible read and sharing in Holy Communion. This worship is followed by refreshments and conversation in the Vestry.
Thursdays 12.15pm Holy Communion in the Angel Chapel
This lunchtime worship is a time of prayer and reflection during the day, to hear God’s Word and share in the Bread and Wine.
