Worship

Founded in 1859, St. John’s is a wonderful and historic church, and a vibrant part of the Toorak and Melbourne community. This parish church is part of the Anglican Church of Australia and a member of the global Anglican Communion, comprised of 80 million people. We offer a number of services of Holy Communion during the week and everyone is welcome at our worship and events regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race or background.

Sunday Worship

8.00am: Holy Communion with hymn singing. This service is a peaceful celebration of Word and Sacrament early on a Sunday. We read the bible, pray for the world and share in Holy Communion.

10.00am: Holy Communion, sung service with St. John’s Choir (choir in recess January & July). This is a joyful celebration of Word and Sacrament where we gather together to hear the Bible read, pray for the needs of the people of the world, share in Holy Communion and sing praises through sacred music. This worship is followed by morning tea, either in our beautiful gardens, or in the Buxton Hall.

Please note: after Christmas in December and in January, there is one service of worship on Sundays at 10.00am.
