The Revd Victoria Bakerov
Assistant Curate
Victoria’s life has been shaped by two enduring passions: medicine and ministry. She was born in Ukraine, and has lived in Australia since 1997. Victoria is grateful to continue living out callings as both an Anglican Chaplain at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and as a curate at St John’s, Toorak.
Victoria has three grown daughters. One is married, and Victoria delights in being a grandmother. Her husband passed away 14 years ago, and since then she has continued life’s journey on her own, sustained by faith, family, and community.
In lighter moments, Victoria enjoys what she likes to call her “three S’s”: singing, sailing, and studying. Victoria is a member of the choir at St Paul’s Cathedral, enjoys sailing at Black Rock when the wind is kind, and is currently studying at Trinity College.
As part of Victoria’s Master’s degree, she is writing a minor thesis on the Lord’s Prayer in the context of intensive care. Victoria is deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend her second year of curacy with the community at St John’s, and looks forward to sharing in our parish’s life and ministry.
