The Revd Elizabeth Murray

Elizabeth Murray was ordained deacon and priest in Melbourne in 2016. Her first curacy was in Anglican Parish of the Parks – St Silas & St Anselm Albert Park, and she is now the Assistant Curate here at St John’s.
Elizabeth grew up in Moonee Ponds going to school in Keilor and Essendon.
Before being selected for ordained ministry, she worked as a homework club co-ordinator, academic skills tutor, manager for the Australian Hymn Book company, and parish office administrator at St Mary’s North Melbourne.
Elizabeth undertook Theology studies and Ministry training at Trinity College Theological School, a college of The University of Divinity, with the generous support of the Pitcher Scholarship. She added a Bachelor of Theology to the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Arts (honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Arts from The Melbourne College of Divinity.
Elizabeth enjoys playing trombone and euphonium in community music groups, visiting NGV and spending time at the beach.
