Built in 1860, this National Trust-Classified Gothic structure is the only Anglican church designed by William Wilkinson Wardell, the Catholic architect of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Crafted from bluestone and sandstone, with spectacular stained glass and mosaic features. Melbournians know that St. John's is a very special place for a wedding.

Under the shade of the magnificent heritage trees, St John's lawn provides an ideal venue for drinks prior to your reception. For a truly unique experience, why not hire a Marquee?

Adjacent to the church - only a short stroll through the picturesque grounds - is the recently renovated Buxton Hall. For five decades this wonderfully expansive space has hosted social events for every kind, but it's as a wedding receiption ventue that Buxton Hall really shines.

Rich in atmosphere and style, Buxton Hall's classic decor includes wrought-iron pendulum chandeliers, polished floorboards, gossamer-fine fabric drape from the vaulted ceiling, fully equipped theatre stage, and air conditioning. Best of all, is its proximity to the church means that guest need not suffer the inconvenience of moving to a seperate location for the reception; it's just across the lawn.

Depending on configuration, the hall can accomodate between two-hundred and three-hundred and fifty guests. St John's Toorak Buxton Hall provides a choice of recommended caterers, hire companies and other suppliers who will help to make your special day perfect.
